Ward’s Island Ferry Terminal is inspired by the relationship between different foods and their arrangement on a plate. The spatial organization of the Terminal is determined by the flavors on the plate and broken up into three program types: mains, sides, and garnishes. These ingredients were further differentiated by the atmosphere created in each space. Depending on the program, materials and textures would vary to ensure a dynamic experience. The result is a terminal that takes the user through a space dictated by their tastes.
